Our Spiritual
Roots : Our Vision |
| |
|
We believe that we are women on a journey with
Jesus Christ as both our companion and our final
destination.
During this pilgrimage, community is formed
by our prayerful presence to each other in our
life and in our work.
As followers of Francis, Clare, Adelaide and Veronica,
we recognise that the Spirit is present within
each individual Sister,
the congregation, and the whole of creation.
Our pilgrimage will lead us through paths of joy
and suffering, allowing us to embrace fully the
Kingdom of God present in our world
|
| |
| We
believe that we are women enmeshed in the Spirit
of openness
with the readiness to accept a diversity which
is our richness.
We believe that we are women that we are women
of conversion,
rooted in the Word of God, and constantly discerning
the Will of God.
We do this by refocusing our gaze on the needs
of our day.
Our option for the poor is evidenced by our simplicity
of lifestyle,
our respect for all, and our willingness to be
risk-takers.
We believe that we are women who witness by evangelising
joyfully.
We are enthusiastic about our vocation and
bring hope to the world
through the Good News of Jesus Christ.
We abandon all to God without counting the cost.
Our witness is to perfect love in community,
nurtured by our relationship with God,
as "beloved daughters in whom he is well-pleased."
We believe that we are women of justice and peace
in this world.
We, in the Spirit of Francis, embrace the whole
of humanity in its suffering,
bringing comfort and solace to all in need.
Our ability to listen, recognise, appreciate,
affirm and encourage
our brothers and sisters is the hallmark of true
justice and peace
which will lead to a deeper union with God and
each other.
We believe that we are women of prayer who
have accepted
Jesus Christ as our Way, Truth and Life.
Our celebration of liturgy and our quiet moments
with the Lord,
encompass all that we do and who we are as
Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception.
